As an independent retailer, we get asked this question a lot. We understand that when you are spending your hard earned cash on designer goods, you want to be sure you’re getting the real deal. That is why, where we can, we strive to prove the authenticity of our products to our customers.
The CertiLogo scheme is an online program set up to help customers authenticate the designer products they have purchased. They work alongside a number of brands that are stocked at Retro Designer Wear, including Parajumpers, Love Moschino, Emporio Armani and Versace Jeans Couture.
How to authenticate using CertiLogo
When you receive your product from us, you can check that brand is a partner of the scheme using the CertiLogo website here.
Then, using their Authenticator, you can scan the QR code found on the inside label of your product
Once you have done this, the Authenticator will inform you of the authenticity of that particular product.
Is there another way to check your goods are authentic?
Many of the brands we stock provide their own information on how to identify counterfeit goods such as UGG Australia.
UGG Australia has set up a page on their site that gives detailed information on how to spot counterfeit UGG products. This includes images of what to look for when you receive your UGGs to ensure they are genuine.
Unfortunately, there are still some brands who are not affiliated with any authentication schemes. However, we understand that the designer clothing game is changing and many of the brands we stock are joining are partnering with authentication programs or setting up their own.
